Redbud Hill House Concert Series is a periodic house concert series, presenting about six to eight concerts per year. The concerts are held in the spacious living room of the residence of Randy and Gaye Auxier, 411 N. 9th Street in Murphysboro, Illinois. Call 618-565-1238 for more information.
Concerts are usually held on week nights, although they are occasionally held on weekend nights. Our scheduled performers sometimes appear on Randy's Wednesday morning radio show, Folk Fiasco, WDBX Carbondale, 91.1 FM, 10 a.m. until noon. Most performers are nationally touring acoustic singer/songwriters, in the general area of folk and Americana, and most are widely recognized performers in that genre.
No reservation is required to attend. Concerts usually begin around 7:30 p.m. Those who wish to attend should park on 9th Street or 10th Street at Hanson and walk down 9th Street or down the north/south alley to the west of 9th Street to the big red brick Victorian house on the hill. Follow the signs. Entrance is in the back of the house.
The requested minimum donation is $10 at the door, but all are welcome to donate less or more according to need or inclination. All funds collected are given to the performer and the costs associated with the concerts are borne by the hosts. Coffee, water, and cookies are available at the concert. Attendees are welcome to bring their own drinks and/or other refreshments.
The performer's CDs are for sale at the concerts. All sales are kept by the performer.
